Description
Oxymetholone is a potent oral anabolic steroid that first appeared in the 1960s under the trade names Anadrol 50(Syntex) and Androyd (Park Davis & Co.). Today, the Oxymetholone hormone is most commonly referred to as Anadrol.
When first released, Anadrol was recognized for numerous therapeutic benefits. These included treating:
- Gastrointestinal diseases
- Osteoporosis
- Anemia
- Chronic underweight conditions
- Catabolic diseases and muscle-wasting disorders
Anadrol’s Chemical Structure
The Oxymetholone hormone, known as Anadrol, is derived from Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and is closely related to methyldihydrotestosterone. It has a 2-hydroxymethylene group added, significantly enhancing its anabolic activity.
It is also classified as a C17-alpha alkylated (C17-aa) anabolic steroid, a modification that allows it to survive oral ingestion. However, this modification also contributes to Anadrol’s liver toxicity.
Anabolic and Androgenic Ratings
- Anabolic Rating: 3x higher than testosterone
- Androgenic Rating: Relatively low, but often more androgenic than expected
Estrogenic Effects
Unlike other anabolic steroids, using an Aromatase Inhibitor (AI) will not reduce Anadrol’s estrogenic side effects. Instead, users need to rely on Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs) for estrogenic control.
What Does Anadrol Do to Improve Your Body?
- Rapid results
- Significant strength gains
- Enhanced protein synthesis
- Provides a fuller, more muscular look
- Large mass gains
Recommended Dosage
Male Dosage
- Daily Dosage: 25-100mg
- Minimum Cycle Length: 4 weeks
- Ideal Cycle Length: 6 weeks
- Maximum Cycle Length: 8 weeks
Female Dosage
- Not recommended for females due to high androgenic effects
Common Stacks
Anadrol is primarily a mass-building compound, making it an excellent choice for bulking cycles. It stacks well with:
- Testosterone (all varieties)
- Deca Durabolin (Deca)
- Nandrolone Phenylpropionate (NPP)
- Equipoise (EQ)
Estrogen Management
Since AIs are ineffective for Anadrol’s estrogenic side effects, a SERM is the best option for managing estrogenic symptoms.
